Spring and art

Journal Entry: Thu May 23, 2013, 9:08 AM
Thank you for visiting and viewing my gallery. It means so much to me. If you are a new visitor or and old one... enjoy.

This spring is late and a bit cold-rainy. I am finding strenght and inspiration to draw or paint, but little motivation to do so, as I am always busy with other things to do...

I am currently reading The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien and enjoying the little time I have left.

I am still not very fit for yoga, I hope the last dental surgery will heal soon...

Bless you all and have a lovely spring!!!

Love

Just a little note to thank you for all the comments and good wishes for my health. I am better, recovering from the surgery still... and hoping I can get back to my yoga and normal activities soon.

I am hoping to visit 7 Churches tomorrow and go to the Via Cruxis and 13 stations, like every year. I always keep Friday for prayer and meditation, silence and reading.

Love and peace to all

OMG, thanks so much for the subscription whomever gave it to me... bless you, I really want to change my name... now I can do it!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It´s been a while since I´ve come to DA or painted anything but sketches... some of my closer friends know the reasons.

During this month I´ve had to return to the O.R. and I am recovering from a complicated surgery. I guess, painting comes natural to me in this times.  I am having some complications but hope that I will overcome them. I am hoping for the best, but I am also prepared for anything.

Thanks to all of you who always supported and still come around my gallery and fave, comment or read.

I hope to be able to finish some of my sketches that are just unfinished...

Enjoy and hugs to everyone.

For 6 wonderful years! This journey has been a wonderful adventure, where I´ve met wonderful people... some became very
important in my life, they actually changed it... some sadly went their own way but left a mark in my life. Some of you will dwell in my heart for ever  I will miss you very much...

Thank you for being there with me

From Abigail Larsons Journal: [link]

Niroot Puttapipat  [link] is from Thailand, and has been working as an illustrator in England for several years. He's the modern incarnation of Arthur Rackham...

Unfortunately, Niroot is in dire straits right now! He, like many of my fellow artists, is struggling to get by. It's gotten to the point that he has next to nothing to live on, and it breaks my heart.

You can help him by buying his books, prints, mugs, magnets, and assorted ephemera here on DA, or from the Folio Society, or from Red Bubble.

I`ve contacted Niroot a couple of times, regarding a work I suggested for a DD [link]
and the few times I've spoken to him he's been incredibly courteous.

He's also illustrated "The Red Fairy Book" which is gorgeous, but out of stock. You can still order it for October here: [link]

Thanks so much! Any support is appreciated, even if it's small

My Dear DA friends!

Thanks every one who visits, watches, views, faves or comments on my works. It means a lot me

....
For this month   my reading includes:

"Figure Drawing, Design and Invention" by Michael Hampton. It`s so amazing, I wish I had started out with this book 10 years ago!!!!

and I am still reading, very slowly :

Reading: "A Dance with Dragons" By George R.R. Martin  After reading the first 4 book in the Series "A Song of Ice and Fire" I can`t wait to read this huge book!!!!!

Oh guys, you really should read the series if you haven`t!!!!!

....

Still reading:

Studying: I am continuing with my drawing studies (Figure Drawing, Drawing Course, digital drawing etc). I really have so much to learn. Drawing the draped figure by George Bridman is a simple good book I got too.

Here are my recommendations for this month:

An excelent drawing book

And a classic incredible book!

----------------------------------------------------------

OK... so here are some learning resources I`ve found tremendously helpfull (it`s Christmas time so give yourself of this amazing books):

1. :iconpuimun: I would have to put in Number 1 Stephanie Pui-Mun Law`s Dreamscapes book.  The content is incredible. A must for fantasy artists. Price $24.99 [link]

2. :iconcataclysm-x: has the most amazing pencil tutorials. You MUST check them ALL out! And give her a watch, she is one of the best DA artist I`ve come to watch and also a lovely person! Check out ALL her tutorials... here [link]

3. I have to recommend *cypherx :iconcypherx: skin colouring tutorial.
A very talented  :iconperselus: recomended this skin colouring tutorial and I have to say it`s one of the best in DA! If not, the best.

Check out this ballons!!!

4. :iconkristinagehrmann: recommended me a japanese site for studying poses. It`s amazing so if you are intested in studying dymanic posing and trying to make your art faster, you Must look at. This is bases on Betty Edwards "Drawing on the right side of the brain"... so you might want to read that first.

Betty Edwards Book: [link]

Site for studying poses: Posemaniacs:

5. Amazing :icongold-seven: recommended me to read and practice with Andrew Loomis books. They are downloable from internet. I can`t give the links, but you can find them here along with anatomy references and all you could ever need to study in years: Btw check her photoshop colouring and watercolour tutorials...

BTW she just got a Daily Deviation on her amazing tutorial!!! :XD: Suggested by me!! :trophy: !!!!

4. :iconmajnouna: has the most amazing studies of races, and anatomy I`ve ever seen. Check her out! [link]

5. This video is AMAZING! So if you miss it, you are totally missing the secret of blending in photoshop. Corel users have their oil pastels that blend themselves, but I like photoshop!! :D

Check this out: by :devandantonious:

6. AND THIS is honestly one of the most beautiful tutorials in DA!!! It comes along videos... I adore it!!! Don`t forget to check out the 3 parts! AMAZING

8. Brushes: :iconzhuzhu: :icondianae::iconredheadstock::iconmidnightstouch: are my fave!

9. Textures. CGtextures.com

10. Stock. ~ThePropagation3 is my fave! :XD:

There are of course many other resources, but I think these are good for a start or to get better in what you do.

It's a VERY long way to become really excellent... that's why there are very few REALLY good artists, because most people give up before getting there, or always draw the same thing without real desire to learn...

See ya all and merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Dear DA friends!

Thanks every one who visits, watches, views, faves or comments on my works. It means a lot me

I'm very grateful to all of you for your support and comments during my active DA period. I don't have any more time  for a membership, as my real life projects are BIG and they demand all my LITTLE free time.  I will keep this page for copyrights. From time to time I might post some new art. Hopefully...

Let your creative muse always be by your side.
